By Bizodisha Bureau, Bhubaneswar, February 12, 2020: Odisha soon will have 45 Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) clusters including a state-of-the-art Tool Room Training Centre at Rourkela, union MSME minister Pratap Sarangi said on Wednesday after meeting Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik here.

While the Centre will sanction Rs 200 crore, the Odisha Government will provide land for the project.

Sarangi further said that a total of 226 MSME clusters would come up in the county.

Speaking to media persons, the Union Minister said, “It was a very fruitful interaction with the CM. The MSME Ministry has approved Rs 200 crore for setting up a Tool Room at Rourkela of Sundergarh district. We have requested the Odisha Government to provide the land. Besides, four extension centres under the monitoring of the tool room would be set up at Balasore, Berhampur, Keonjhar and Kalahandi.’

Around Rs 20 crore will be spent for setting up of each extension cluster. Proposals for two extension centres have already been sent to the MSME Ministry, he added.

Sarangi further said around 6700 acres of unused land in coastal districts of the state like Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapara and Ganjam will be used for developing brackish water aquaculture projects.
