By Bizodisha Bureau, January 12, 2019: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Balangir on January 15 and unveil a slew of Central government projects in Odisha worth Rs 1,545 crore. This is his third visit to the state in the past one month.

Modi will inaugurate 15km Balangir-Bichhupali section of 289km long Khurda-Balangir new rail line project built at a cost of Rs 115 crore. He will also flag off a new train in the Balangir-Bichhupali section.

The PM is also scheduled to dedicate a Multi Modal Logistics Park spread over 28.3 acres at Jharsuguda to the nation. The park built at a cost of Rs 100 crore will facilitate EXIM and domestic cargo including Private Freight Traffic (PFT).

Besides, he will inaugurate electrification work of 813km of Jharsuguda-Vizinagaram and Sambalpur-Angul rail lines completed at a cost of Rs 1,085 crore. He will also inaugurate doubling of Barpali-Dungaripali and Balangir-Deogaon lines built at a cost of Rs 189.3 crore.

The PM also will dedicate a rail bridge over Nagavali River between Theruvali-Singapur Road station built at a cost of Rs 27.4 crore. It was washed away during floods in 2017.

He will inaugurate renovation and restoration works at Nilamadhav and Siddheswar Temple in Gandhaharadi (Boudh), RanipurJharial group of monuments in Balangir and Paschim Somnath group of temples in Boudh. He will also inaugurate renovation and restoration works at Asurgarh Fort in Kalahandi at a cost of Rs 2.2 crore.

Post Office Passport Sewa Kendras at Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Puri, Phulbani, Bargarh and Balangir will be inaugurated by Modi on Tuesday.

He will lay foundation stone for permanent building at Kendriya Vidyalaya, Sonepur. The permanent campus for Kendriya Vidyalaya Sonepur being constructed with an investment of Rs 15.81 crore will be spread over 10 acre. It will have modern schooling facilities for the benefit of over 1000 school children.
