By Bizodisha Bureau, Bhubaneswar, May 31, 2018: Odisha chief minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday approved 761 projects for 85 panchayats under Ama Gaon Ama Vikas programme. The money to be spent on these projects is pegged at Rs 19.92 crore.

Attending Ama Gaon Ama Vikas programme, Patnaik called upon the officials and panchayats representatives to ensure early completion of the projects.

The projects are for total four blocks – Boipariguda block in Koraput district, Digapahandi in Ganjam district, Sinapali in the Nuapada district and Nabarangpur block in Nabarangpur district.

Odisha Government on March 5 last kicked off ‘Ama Gaon, Ama Vikas’ (Our Village, our development) programme to reach out to people in rural areas and involve themselves in developmental activities.

The programme was launched on the occasion of the birth anniversary of former Chief Minister Biju Patnaik, which is observed as Panchayati Raj Day in the State every year.
