By Bizodisha Bureau, Bhubaneswar, May 18, 2018: Passengers of 18005 Howrah-Koraput Samaleswari Express had narrow escape on Friday as one pair of wheels of the engine of the train derailed near Rayagada in Odisha.

No coaches were affected by the derailment.

According to Chief Public Relations of East Coast Railway (ECoR) J P Mishra, no passenger was injured in the incident.

“By grace of God, no coach has been affected. Nor has anybody sustained any injury. An extra engine has gone to site to get the coaches back to Singapur Road near Rayagada. A relief train from Rayagada will go to site and rerail the engine. A relief train has been sent to get the rerailed engine back to Rayagada,” said Mr Mishra.

He added that the the coaches would move from Singapor Road to Koraput.

“The entire operation is likely to take around five hours,” he added.
