By Bizodisha Bureau, November 25, 2017: Odisha government on Friday cleared decks for setting up of three industrial parks in the state. The total investment is pegged at Rs 1640 crore and will create jobs for around 7900 people.

The approval was accorded at the State Level meeting held under the Chairmanship of Chief Secretary A P Padhi.

Padhi asked the Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation to assess the land requirement and fix mile stones of the progress along with the timeline.

The meeting accorded final approval to Detailed Project Reports of Gitanjali Infratech Ltd for setting up a gems, jewellery, lifestyle and luxury goods park at Ramdaspur in Cuttack district, Padhi said.

The park has been proposed to be developed over 100 acres of land with an investment of Rs 636 crore. The project is expected to provide employment opportunity for around 1600 people.

The proposal of Jindal Stainless Steel Limited for setting up downstream stainless steel park at Kalinganagar in Jajpur has been given in principle approval in the meeting.

The proposal envisages investment of Rs 704 crore with employment potential of 4800 people. The park will have 71 small and medium units in the sectors like auto manufacturing, kitchenware & life style, light engineering, precision cold rolling, pipes & tubes and service centre.

Similarly, the proposal of Welspun Odisha Steel Private Limited for setting up a food processing, warehousing and electrical equipment park in Dosinga and Chainipahi villages of Bhadrak district has also been extended in-principle approval, Padhi said.

The park is proposed to be developed over 175 acre of land with investment of Rs 300 crore. The park will create employment opportunities for 1500 persons.
